The Deutsche Afrika Korps were renowned as warriors with honour and as warriors we salute them.
The Deutsche Afrika Korps, also known as the German Africa Corps, was a military unit formed by Germany during World War II. It was primarily involved in the North African campaign. Led by General Erwin Rommel, the Afrika Korps was sent to support the Italian forces in their fight against the British in Libya and Egypt. The unit was known for its superior tactics and mobility in desert warfare. Despite facing harsh desert conditions and scarcity of resources, the Afrika Korps achieved several early victories, capturing Tobruk and advancing towards the Suez Canal. However, the tide turned against them with the British counteroffensive at El Alamein. Eventually, the Afrika Korps was forced to retreat and surrender in May 1943.
